AMS Controls, an advanced technology provider aimed at improving production efficiency, offers the XL220 controller as part of a complete retrofit controller package that will extend the life of your HVAC production line by ten years or more.
AMS controls offers a modern controls package with CAD integration support,
readily available replacement parts all fully supported by a professional controls
company with proven history.
Automatic HVAC ductwork machines have been around for decades. These were some of the first machines to use electronic length control. Decades later, the machine’s electronic controls may have become obsolete and repair can be a problem. Many mechanically viable machines will benefit from upgrading out of date controls that in some cases are no longer supported by the OEM. Machines can be brought up to the latest controls technology by retrofitting them with AMS systems.
Get decades of new life out of your existing machinery with improved reliability.
This is a very cost effective solution to replace electrical system as alternative to buying
a entirely new machine. And the cost is a a fraction of a new system.
AMS has more than thirty years of experience developing controls for HVAC machines. The first computerized controllers using microprocessor technology were designed and built by AMS. Accuracy, ease of use, and innovation have been the features of these products. Continuing in this tradition, AMS is proud to introduce the XL220 Series Controller, as part of a ductwork machine retrofit-control-package. These controls improve the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of any rectangular ductwork machine incorporating the latest technology for; computer automation, part marking and bar coding.
The XL220 based retrofit package features:
- Latest in control software/hardware including 10.4" touch screen display and industrial keypad.
- Modular system makes it easy to add or remove system components such as a pin spotter, brake, etc.
- Modular system drastically reduces the wiring required. This is a huge advantage not just for start up but for general service and trouble shooting as well.
- Programmed touch screen HMI replaces the panel filled with switches. The HMI is programmed in a logical fashion so that it is easy to get to the push buttons you need without intense searching. Adding new switches during installation is a simple process.
- A new level of safety has been added to the line. E-stop buttons will be installed at every station so that the line can be shut down from virtually anywhere in case of an emergency.
- All new motor starters, wiring, the motors and mechanical equipment will be re-used.
- Remote boxes for individual line sections will be mounted on the machine. Keeping them accessible to the operator.
- Main console is 30" pedestal enclosure. Takes up much less floor space.
- The new controls maintain the line non-stop configuration for maximum through-put.
- Optional Eclipse Production Management System
- Integrates with all the popular HVAC CAD systems
- Manage production schedule and coil tracking.
- For complete manufacturing integration. This gives the ability to download orders and upload production data to an office PC.
- Programmed parts, machine setups, and parameters are stored on the PC for future reference.
- Printer integration: Label printers, ink jet printers, and bar code scanners can be integrated for complete line control.
AMS will be at the 2009 AHR Expo in Chicago’s McCormick Place (January 26-28, booth 1242), please stop by for a consultative discussion regarding what AMS and the XL220 controller can do for your machinery. If unable to make it to this year’s show, please get in touch with us for the bottom line on improving your production process.
